Richard L. Henderson, 74 years, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 5:45 AM in Mercy Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Richard had been in declining health for the past year. Richard was born on November 11, 1934 in Monroe, MI the son of the late Mark and Hazel (Williamson) Henderson. Richard was a 1952 graduate of Monroe High School. On September 19, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, Richard married his beloved wife, the former Edna M. Borrusch, the Rev. Fehner presided at the ceremony. Richard was employed in the maintenance department at Ford Motor Company's Monroe plant for 39 years. He retired in 1998. Richard was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Monroe. His hobbies included watching sports and washing his car everyday. Most of all Richard loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Edna, 3 loving children; Keith A. (Lisa) Henderson of Monroe, Kurt L. (Dawn) Henderson of Temperance, and Keri L. (Kevin) Raymo of Monroe, 8 cherished grandchildren; Brianna, Hayley, Logan, Sheridan, Jordyn, Whitney, Trey, and Brady, 1 brother; William (Nancy) Henderson of Monroe, 3 sisters; Marian Scheich, Peg Welch and Janet Henderson all of Monroe. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother Robert and a sister Marjorie Crawford. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating Richard's life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
