Obituary

Richard D. "Ricky" Carr II, age 32, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Ricky was born on September 22, 1976 in Akron, OH the son of Richard D. and Candy L. (Snavely) Carr. Ricky was a 1995 graduate of Jefferson High School where he ran track and played football. Ricky then went on to receive his associate's degree in electrical engineering from Monroe County Community College. Ricky was employed as a Service Engineer for ITW Ransburg in Toledo for 7 years. He also worked for Pulse Engineering in San Diego, CA for a short time. Ricky was a member of Stewart Road Church of God in Monroe where on November 15, 1987 along with his father he was baptized and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Ricky was also an active member of the church youth group. Ricky enjoyed golfing, sitting in front of the television with his Detroit Lions Helmet on watching the Lions play football, bowling, and fishing. Ricky was a kind-hearted person who always gave and asked for nothing in return. Most of all Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on holidays. Ricky is survived by his loving parents Rich and Candy Carr of Monroe, and his brother and best friend Nicholas R. Carr also of Monroe. Sadly, Ricky was preceded in death by his grandparents, and 2 uncles; Mike "Uncle Buck" Snavely and James Snavely. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. On Saturday, May 30, 2009 he will lie in state at Stewart Road Church of God from 9:00 AM until funeral services celebrating his life at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Sam Luke Senior Pastor of Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center, the Rev. Sally Martin and the Rev. Fred Swank of Acceptance Ministries former pastor of Stewart Road Church of God will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given directly to Ricky's Family.
