Richard E. Andrews, age 74, of Erie, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 14, 1947, in Southview, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Carl and Helen Andrews. He married Alma J. Werner July 4, 1970.
Richard owned and operated Joy Auto Sales in Detroit until his retirement in May 2005. After his retirement, he and Alma moved to Erie to live a more relaxing lifestyle. He liked to stay busy and enjoyed working on cars and other projects, especially if building or putting things together was involved. He was known as a mentor to many.
He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, specifically his grandchildren, who he thought the world of.
Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alma; his two children, Christina Andrews of Erie and Michael Andrews of Detroit; seven grandchildren, Domonic, Sarah, Nathaniel, Justin, Emily Anthony and Kaylyn; a brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Andrews of McDonald, PA; many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard E. Andrews, Jr., four brothers, Howard, Carl, Donald and Laverne and a sister, Geraldine.
In accordance with Richard's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
