Obituary

Reneé Mary Carleton, 60 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in her home.
Born October 21, 1961 in Trenton, MI, Reneé was the daughter of the late Raymond and Joyce (Blanchette) Beaudrie. She was baptized, confirmed and attended elementary school at St. Mary in Rockwood, MI. Reneé was a 1979 graduate of St. Mary's Academy and in 1982 received her Bachelor of Science in special education from Central Michigan University. She furthered her education and in 1990 received her master's degree from Eastern Michigan University. She married Daniel J. Carleton.
Reneé worked as a Special Education Teacher for Monroe County Intermediate School District for 33 years. She impacted hundreds of students at Lincoln Elementary, Monroe Junior High and at Monroe High School. Reneé made her classrooms feel like home, so her students felt comfortable and loved. One of her goals was to set her students up for success.
Reneé was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church and since her retirement a volunteer at The Monroe Thrift Shop. Reneé's creativity and enthusiasm brought her family together. She will be remembered for her Christmas Eve parties, where every year she celebrated the traditions of a different country. Reneé was a wonderful mother, cheering on her girls at every gymnastics meet, basketball game and tennis match. She adored being a grandmother, always doing crafts and adventures with Eli and Claire, and was thrilled to hold her newest grandsons, Liam and Lincoln.
Reneé is survived by two loving daughters: Danielle (Bret) Winegardner of Carmel, IN and Paige (Andrew) Pulsifer of Livonia, MI, four cherished grandchildren: Eli and Claire Winegardner and Liam and Lincoln Pulsifer four siblings: Denise (Dave) Reaume, Beth Ann (Glenn) LaDuke, Mark (Debbie) Beaudrie, and Scott (Karen Deskovitz) Beaudrie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161, with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Private interment services will be held at St. Charles Cemetery in Newport, MI.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Monroe Parks and Recreation to assist in making the parks handicap accessible or Holiday Camp.
