Regina Foster, 79, of Monroe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her adored family, in her home, on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 12:35 AM. She had been in poor health since October. She was born in Toledo, OH on April 26, 1928 to Neville A. and Pearl (Donagan) Baird. A lifetime resident of Erie and Monroe, on November 27, 1943 she married Charles W. Foster at the 1st Methodist Church, Monroe. She had attended Monroe High School, was a District manager for jewelry companies for 20 years, designed dance costumes for Peg Harris Dance Studio for many years, and was a cake decorator. She was a member of the 1st Nazarene Church, Monroe, and involved with the women's missionaries at church. She was a charter member of the VFW Post #3925, Ladies Auxiliary, Erie, a district director for the Michigan Motor Maids for 30 years, and belonged to the Motor Maids Ladies Motorcycle club since 1960 and the International Blackhawk Motorcycle Club, Temperance since 1951. Survivors include her loving husband, Charles W., beloved children, Bill (Sandy) Foster of LaSalle, Bob (Dawn) Foster of Carleton, and Bonnie (Rod) Simmons of Walnutport, PA, 8 cherished grandchildren, 12 dear great grandchildren, and a endeared brother, Neville A. (Beth) Baird of Wilmington, NC. Sadly her parents, a precious grandson, Robert (Hotdog) C. Foster, brothers, Reece, Royce, and Albert (Twister) Baird, and sisters, Liz Mills, Thelma Cousino, Frieda Rowlands, and Mildred Baird all preceded her in death. Friends may call 5-8 PM Wednesday and 12-8 PM Thursday at the Bacarella Funeral Home, where services commemorating her life will be held at 11 AM Friday, burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Rev. Randall K. Hartman, pastor of the 1st Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the church, the Ronald McDonald House, or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
