Obituary

Ray P. Beason, 63 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He had been in declining health for the past two months.
Born December 3, 1958 in Monroe, Ray was the son of the late Manie N. and Pearl E. (Cole) Beason. He had attended Monroe County ISD.
While attending school Ray was part of the work shop program through ISD and participated in Special Olympics. Ray had a great love of all types of sports, both watching on television and in person. He enjoyed bowling, parties, and attending any type of event. He could often be found on the sidelines of Monroe High School sporting events. Ray had an incredible memory for names and dates. Most of all he enjoyed being with family. His most fond memories are those of his nieces and nephews, especially watching and reading about their sporting events.
Ray is survived by his sister, Barbara Joan (Jerry) Payment of Monroe; three nephews: Jeff (Annette)Payment, Todd Beason, and Brian Beason; three nieces: Roxanne (Bryan) Brettschneider, Cindy (Aaron) LaFountain, and Melanie Beason, and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two brothers Jerry and Larry Beason.
The family would like to thank ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital Doctors, Emergency room staff, Second floor nursing staff and the ICU department for the care they gave. Special thanks to Macomb residential staff for the love and support they have always provided.
There will be no visitation or services and a private interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Monroe Chapter of the Special Olympics.
