Randall E. Selecki, age 68, of West Branch, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Randy was the son of Raymond and June (Couch) Selecki, and was born in Trenton, Michigan, then spent most of his early life in Lincoln Park, Michigan. He married the love of his life Sally Lou Bogoske in 1981 and together they had four sons. In 1996 they settled in Lambertville, Michigan. Randy worked for General Motors as a line worker for many years before he retired in 2012. Randy and Sally shared 33 years of marriage before she sadly preceded him in death on July 30, 2014.
Randy was known for his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding or just sitting on his four-wheeler. After Sally passed, he moved permanently to West Branch Michigan and loved his cabin living. He had a knack for carpentry which helped him remodel his cabin all on his own as well as building garages. He was always a helping hand you could count on. If someone needed advice or help on something he helped without hesitation.
He had a fondness for Ford trucks, watching YouTube videos, eating pistachios, drinking milk, and pipe smoking. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings. He was a collector of miscellaneous items, and he would have a backup and a backup for the backup of those items (flashlights, lighters etc.).
Randy could always be found wearing his worn-out T-shirts with the neck stretched out or holes. (often in layers because he got cold) and loved the convenience of wearing his Crocs. He had a habit of misplacing items often due to placing them in odd places around his house, most of the time those items are his wallet or phone. He enjoyed his animals and always had a dog by his side; his most recent dog Storm was one he adopted at 6 months old. He had a cat Wyatt and a few chickens to care for as well. More than anything else Randy loved his family and friends, he’d do anything for his family and absolutely treasured his granddaughters Jaelynn and Lacey, he loved spending time with them and loved spending time with his best friend (who was conveniently his neighbor) Jerry.
Randy is survived by his four sons: Bryan (Tammy) Johnson, Jacob (April) Selecki, Aaron Selecki, and Eric (Lindsey) Selecki; seven siblings: Dan, Ranelle, Judy, Becky, Jill, Jan, and Jackie; and two granddaughters: Jaelynn and Lacey.
In addition to his wife Sally, Randy was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darlene.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held in Randy’s memory at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 South Telegraph Road, Monroe, MI 48161 on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. to the time of the funeral at 2:00 P.M.
