Rachel F. "Fon" Butler, age 77 of Monroe, MI. passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 at 7:57 AM in the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Rachel was born March 17, 1929 in Tazewell, TN the daughter of the late Virgil and Mayme (O'Dell) Heath. Rachel moved to Monroe in 1944 from Tazewell. Rachel was a homemaker and a member of Church of God Mountain Assembly. Rachel enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading her Bible and collecting Angels and birds. Rachel is survived by her beloved daughter Trena K. (Beason) Miller of Monroe, MI. her son in law Leslie "Butch" Knight of Monroe, MI, 2 brothers; J.C. Williams and Condy Williams Jr. both of Tazewell, TN and sister Ann (Raymond) Collins also of Tazewell, TN. Also surviving are 6 cherished grandchildren and 14 cherished great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Rachel was preceded in death by a beloved daughter Peggy L. Knight on July 19, 2003, a brother Lee Williams and a sister Georgia Smith. Visitation for Rachel will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 PM and Thursday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Gary Pickrell and Rev. Harold Raines pastor's of Monroe Full Gospel Church along with Rev. Rick Massingill pastor of Church of God Mountain Assembly will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
