Priscilla A. Redmond, age 75, of Monroe, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 in her home.
Priscilla was born July 15, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William Thomas "Tom" and Martha Kathryn (Baker) Redmond. She and her family moved to Monroe in 1949.
A 1965 graduate of Monroe High School, she then began her pursuit of higher education. She earned her associate degree from Michigan Christian College in 1967, a bachelor of art degree in English from David Lipscomb College in 1969, a master's degree in liberal studies from University of Toledo in 1988 and a master's degree in counseling from Eastern Michigan University in 1995. With all of this education she helped educate the children of Monroe for 30 years teaching Language Arts to 7th and 8th grade students for Monroe Public Schools. She also coached girl's basketball at Cantrick and softball at Monroe High School and Cantrick.
Priscilla enjoyed reading and watching the Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by three brothers, Tom (Darlene) Redmond of Lambertville, Randy (Karen Raymond) Redmond of Monroe and Eric (Beth) Redmond of Monroe and many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Patrick Redmond.
A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Dunbar Road Church of Christ from 3 until a celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Rev. André King, pastor of the church will officiate. Immediately following the service a dinner will be served at the church hall. Private interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
