Phillip L. Meyer, age 59 of Carleton, MI, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his home.
Born October 20, 1965 in his parents home in Carleton, Phil was the son of Donald and Mary Ann (Cousino) Meyer. He attended St. Patrick Elementary School and graduated from Airport High School in 1983. On May 9, 1992, Phil married Lisa A. Chinavare at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Newport, MI. Together they raised two children.
Phil's working career included Tube City IMS/Gerdau Steel, Finnerty Farms, and Herc Rentals of which he recently retired from a few months ago. He was a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic by trade and enjoyed golfing, hunting and camping in his spare time. He was an avid University of Michigan fan and of all Michigan sports in general. He had a soft heart when it came to babies and dogs, but his greatest love was his family.
Phil is survived by his wife Lisa; daughter, Jenna (Lucas Diver) Meyer of Temperance, MI; son, Cole Meyer of Carleton, MI; his parents of Carleton; and five siblings: Dennis (Jane) Meyer of Carleton, MI, Paul (Wendy) Meyer of Carleton, MI, Ron (Kim) Meyer of Carleton, MI, Mike (Annette) Meyer of Milan, MI, and Donna Meyer of Carleton, MI.
Phil was preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Patrick Meyer and a sister-in-law, Gail Meyer.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3rd at Bacarella Funeral Home. Phil will lie in state Monday morning at 10 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish, Carleton Campus. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by the church pastor, Rev. Fr. Michael Woroniewicz.
