Pauline Zeitz, 81 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 5:55 PM under the tender care of Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe and The Lutheran Home. She had been in declining health due to Alzheimer's disease.
Pauline was born December 9, 1929 in Monroe, MI. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Della (Sweat) Mundy. She attended Monroe Public Schools.
On June 28, 1958 in Monroe, MI, Pauline married her beloved husband Ronald L. Zeitz in the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Herbert B. Fehner.
Pauline was employed as a sales clerk by Kmart in Monroe for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. While at Kmart she was a member of their ladies bowling team the "Kmart Cuties". She was also an active member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Pauline enjoyed attending flea markets, antique shows, gun shows and toy shows where she found many items to add to her collection of antiques toys and American Art Pottery. She also enjoyed fishing and traveling to Tennessee with her sisters the Yaya's.
Pauline is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Ron, 3 sisters; Joan Gramlich, Clara (Milton) Fisher and Vickie (Tony) Paolino all of Monroe, 1 step brother Frank (Donna) Mundy of Port St. Lucie, FL, 5 nieces, 2 nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step brother Clifford Mundy and a sister Bobbie Sweat.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and Thursday from 12 noon until 8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe. On Friday, April 15, 2011 she will lie in state at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 12 noon. The Rev. Roy Southerland pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
