Obituary

Paula Ruth (Franke) Rosenberger, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2024, after being in poor health for the past year.
Born in Detroit, MI on January 26, 1947, Paula was the second child of Gunther and June (Gardner) Franke. In 1950, the family moved to Monroe and Paula grew up in Indian Trails in Frenchtown Twp. She was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School where she was a football cheerleader. She attended Adrian Business School and Cleary College in Ann Arbor, MI.
In 1966, Paula married her childhood sweetheart, Robert L. Rosenberger, also a 1965 Jefferson High School graduate. After residing two years in Kansas while Robert served his country in the U.S. Army, she and Robert settled back in Monroe in 1968. Paula found employment with Monroe Auto Equipment and WVMO Radio, where she broadcast the news and weather. In 1970, she gave birth to her first child, Randall. She then began working for Mercy Memorial Hospital in the Radiology Department from 1970 until her retirement in 2011. During this time in 1975, she gave birth to her second child, Nicole.
Loved by all, Paula was an ardent University of Michigan, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions fan. She always saw the good in people and in any situation, no matter how challenging. She also had an infectious laugh. Under her high school graduation photo, the caption read: "when she laughs, the world laughs with her".
As members of the Monroe Boat Club, Paula and Bob could be frequently found enjoying time with family and socializing with friends. She always looked forward to her annual shopping excursion to Birch Run with her daughter Nicole. Paula also had a love of traveling, particularly in their Pontiac Trans Am convertible. They took frequent trips to the family cottage in Harrison, MI and enjoyed fall color tours up north. They also loved vacationing in Florida, visiting Mexico, and grateful for the once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan Cruise they shared.
Paula is survived by her husband Bob; her two children, Randy Rosenberger and Nicole (Thomas) Renwick, Jr., both of Monroe; sister, Joan Miller of Monroe; two beloved grandchildren, Aaron Renwick and Liam Rosenberger, both of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews.
No funeral home visitation is planned at this time. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and funeral arrangements. A memorial celebration of Paula's life will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Monroe Boat Club, the nursing staff at the IHM Senior Living Community and Elara Caring Hospice, and the numerous friends and family that helped them navigate through this past year.
For anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Paula, the family suggests supporting the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Monroe County.
