Paul David Carter, age 34 of Taylor, MI formerly of Monroe, MI passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at DMC Sinai – Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI. Paul had been in poor health for 4 years. Paul was born November 3, 1972 in Detroit, MI. Paul was a 1991 graduate of Jefferson High School where he enjoyed playing sports. On May 25, 2000 Paul married Laura E. Smith in Toledo, OH. Paul was employed as a forklift operator, working for various manufacturing companies. A member of Bethany Baptist Church, Paul enjoyed sports, NASCAR and coaching his sons in baseball and hockey. Paul is survived by his loving wife Laura, his beloved children, Zachary and Brandon Carter of Newport, MI and Lillian, Meagan and Natalie Carter of Livonia, MI, his father, Walter Carter of Newport, MI and his mother Lenna (Breeze) Plachta of Taylor, MI, his brother Kevin (Tina) Carter of Newport, MI and his sister Teresa (Michael) Bartrum of Taylor, MI. Sadly he was preceded in death by his grandparents. Visitation for Paul will be held Sunday from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Rex Jones Jr. pastor of Bethany Baptist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow.
