Patricia Ann Lauwers, 62, of Monroe, died at 10:49 PM Saturday, September 2, 2006, at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH, where she had been for 2 weeks. She had been in poor health since January. She was born October 12, 1943 in Detroit to James and Geraldine (Cornelia) Mulrenin. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Philip Neri High School, Detroit and on June 17, 1966 she married Raymond E. Lauwers at St. Juliana Catholic Church, Detroit, they came to Monroe in August of 1967 from Detroit. Patricia was a dispatcher, and served as a union steward, with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department for 18 years, upon her retirement she then worked for Haynes Realty for 5 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and active in the grade school activities while her children attended, an avid supporter of SMCC and catholic education, she was very active at SMCC involving herself in many activities. She leaves to mourn her husband, 3 children, Raymond J. (Trish) of Jackson, MI, Michael P. (Jennifer Montgomery) of Jackson, MS, and Joann K. of Ann Arbor, a sister, Kathy Reynaert of Fort Myers, FL, a sister-in-law, Patricia Mulrenin of St. Clare Shores, MI, and 3 grandchildren. Sadly, her parents and a brother, Barney Mulrenin preceded her in death. Friends may call 12-9 PM Wednesday at the Bacarella Funeral Home where the Fr. Stephen Rooney of St. Michael Catholic Church will conduct a scripture service at 6 PM. She will lie in state Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 10 AM until a mass of the resurrection at 11 AM. Fr. Jack Quinlan, pastor of the church will officiate. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to SMCC.
