Patricia Sarah Burns, age 85 of Newport, MI, passed away April 24, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Monroe.
Born January 4, 1939 in Detroit, MI, Pat was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Cura) Luevano. She married John J. Burns on August 10, 1955 and was employed as an X-Ray Technician for many years, primarily by Henry Ford Hospital.
Pat had been a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and St. Anne's Catholic Church. She looked forward to Monday night movies, popcorn, and wine with "The Girls", watching Dancing With The Stars, and holiday time with the family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to new places around the world, snowmobiling, and an occasional buttery chardonnay with lots of ice. Always wanting to look her best when leaving the house, Pat had fun getting "dolled up".
Pat is survived by her husband, John Burns, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Christy Burns of Newport; sister, Carolyn "Toodie" (Allen) Anderson of Newport; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a son, John Burns, Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Burns; and her loving pet dogs, Casey, Cody, and Rocky.
Bacarella Funeral Home provided cremation arrangements per Pat's request. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by the church pastor, Rev. Fr. Henry Rebello. All are welcome to attend. Pat's cremated remains will be laid to rest near family members at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown, MI at a later date.
