Patrice Valerie Baker, age 71 of Carleton, passed away Monday afternoon, July 11, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She had been seriously ill for two weeks.
Born July 18, 1950 in Detroit, MI, Patrice was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophie (Doinidis) VanGoff. She graduated from Dearborn Edsel Ford High School in 1968 and attended Henry Ford Community College. On June 27, 1981, she married Richard Kenneth Baker at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroe.
In 1977, Patrice and her brother Bill started Nautilus Sub and Pizza Shop in Westland, MI. She was later employed by Beltone in Monroe for 26 years before having to medically retire in 2006.
Patrice enjoyed antiquing, ceramics, watching game shows on TV, and attending flea markets.
Patrice is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenny Baker of Carleton; son, Nicholas Baker of Carleton; and brother, Vasil "Bill" (Cindy) VanGoff of Westland, MI.
All are invited to attend an open house celebration of Patrice's life on Sunday, July 17th from 2 p.m. - whenever at the Baker Barn in Carleton, 12686 Grafton Rd. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements through Roselawn Memorial Park.
