Pamela K. Moffitt, age 65, of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Pam was born June 23, 1958, in Monroe. She was the daughter of Frankilene "Frankie" Standifer and Joseph Weiss, Sr.
She attended Monroe Public Schools and was a graduate of Michigan College of Beauty.
Pamela was a bus driver for Monroe Public Schools for many years and retired in 2014. After retiring from Monroe Public Schools, she drove for Lake Erie Transit for 5 years. She also worked as a hairdresser alongside her mother Frankie and many friends throughout her life.
Pam loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her homecooked meals with family, friends, and neighbors. She was known for making the best chicken n dumplings, biscuits n gravy and cornbread. She had a special way of lifting people up and making them laugh no matter what the situation was with her unique sense of humor.
Pam is survived by two children, Shane Spain and Rochelle "Chelle" (Gerald) Hasselbach; mother, Frankie Kerkenbush of Monroe; stepmother, Georgetta Weiss of Monroe; three brothers, Michael Hensley, James Hensley and Joseph A. (Lisa) Weiss, Jr. of Monroe; three grandchildren, Skyler Spain, Samantha Spain and James Hasselbach.
Pam was preceded in death by her biological father Richard Hensley, father Joseph Weiss, Sr. stepfather Roger Kerkenbush and her beloved son Kenneth Moffitt, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, on Thursday, December 28th, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service celebrating Pam's life that afternoon at 4:00 pm. Rev. Jim Williams, pastor of Flat Rock Church of God, will officiate.
Donations made in lieu of flowers will be used to honor Pamela's memorial wishes and should be made to her daughter Rochelle Hasselbach.
