Okla Holland, precious mother, sister and aunt, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 3, 2007. Born in Tennessee, Okla was the daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret (Mason) Evans. On March 3, 1972 in Angola, IN Okla married Jay J. Holland. Sadly he preceded her in death on January 14, 1989. A hard worker all her life, Okla was employed by Ford Motor Company in Monroe. Okla attended the 1st Wesleyan Church in Monroe where she was very active in her early years. In the 1940's Okla was a member of the Melita Rebekah Lodge #55 in Monroe. Okla dearly loved her family and her Lord. A special thank you for all who cared for her over the last six years at Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. Okla is survived by her daughter Beatrice (Merlyn) Clark of Monroe, granddaughters; Terri Bergman of Holland, MI and Nancy Stark of Monroe, 1 great grandson, 2 sisters; Sarah Cleo Wood of Belmont, MI and Edna Jennings of Moultrie, GA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Okla was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jeffrey Luttrell pastor of the 1st Wesleyan Church and the Rev. Larry Maddox will officiate. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Wesleyan Church.
