Norman "Lonnie" Myers, age 66 of Monroe, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 in his home.
Born October 8, 1956 in Monroe, Lonnie was the son of the late Norman and Christine (Cosby) Myers. He attended Monroe Public Schools and married Shirlene (Marlow) Krauss on March 15, 1975.
Lonnie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on March 23, 1981 and served 6 years. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1987. As a civilian, he had several jobs including a local computer repair business that he owned and operated.
Lonnie loved hunting and being in the outdoors. After taking a break from deer hunting for many years, he was happy to get a deer this past season. He was a great dad and loving grandfather.
Lonnie is survived by a daughter, Amber (Jason) Weston of Novi, MI; three brothers, James "Jimmy" Myers, Gary (Cynthia) Myers, and Mike (Tammy) Myers; sister, Paula Fletcher; two grandchildren, Joshua Myers and Seth Weston and his dog, Dooby.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by a bother, Norman Lee Myers; a sister, Lynn Ritchie, brother-in-law, Mark Fletcher, and great-niece, Mikayla Fletcher.
In celebration of Lonnie's life, a memorial open house gathering will be held Sunday, April 30th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Veteran's Hall (Maybee VFW Post 4361) 2460 Blazer Rd. Maybee, MI 48159. At 2 p.m., military honors will be rendered by Monroe VFW Post 1138. All are welcome to come and share stories, memories, and laughter.
