Norma Jean Pearch, 73 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 9:05 PM. Norma passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She had been in declining health for the past 6 years.
Norma was born July 8, 1937 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late James Herbert and Mildred M. Gardner.  A life resident of Monroe, Norma attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School.
On October 22, 1960 at First Baptist Church in Monroe, Norma married her beloved husband Gerald L. Pearch. A former member of First Baptist Church Norma was currently a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Norma began working for the Head Start Program and then became an Instructor for the Monroe County Intermediate School District until her retirement on September 9, 1987 after 15 years of service.
Norma was a caregiver for many and volunteered for Karmanos Cancer Institute in Monroe and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed crafts, swimming, her church women's groups and socializing with friends. Most of all Norma loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her beloved husband Gerald, 3 loving children; Julie L. (Robert) Colton of Plymouth, MI, Gregory L. (Bettina) Pearch and Thomas G. Pearch both of Monroe, 8 cherished grandchildren; Eric, Steven, Adrianna, Anthony, Brittany, Braelyn, Chynna, and Kaleigh, and 3 sisters; Irene (Roy) Finley, Gertrude Parlette, and Ruth (Kelsie) Owsley all of Monroe.
In addition to her parents Norma was preceded in death by 1 sister; Laura Finley.
Norma's family will greet friends on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, from 12 noon until a Memorial Service celebrating her life at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate.

The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, is assisting Norma's family with funeral arrangements.
