Norma Jean Frank, age 82 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Down River Estates in Brownstown, MI.
Born June 18, 1940 in Fonde, KY, Norma was the daughter of the late William and Vesta (Gray) Hensley. She graduated from Airport High School in Carleton in 1958 and married Ronald L. Frank on February 9, 1959 in Taylor, MI. Together, they were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe Boat Club and Toledo Roadrunners. He preceded Norma in death on May 28, 1998.
Upon completing high school, Norma attended the Carnegie Medical Institute in Detroit for two years where she earned a nursing degree. Afterward, she was employed by Dr. John King as an assistant at his medical practice for five years.
Norma is survived by a son, Ronald L. Frank, II of Peoria, AZ; sister, Patricia Sibley of Virginia; two brothers, Orville (Jeanette) Hensley of Monroe and James "Archie" (Rosemary) Hensley of Florence, AL; and grandson, Ronald (Joe Brokka) Frank, III of Seattle, WA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was also preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Sue Frank; brother, Carl Hensley; four sisters, Mable (James) Peters, Wanda (Walter) Sirmons, Mary (Dominic) Bellestri, and Ruby (Charles) Meyers.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21st at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Daniel Potts, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting the Alzheimer's Association: memo "Rowing to Remember", a program designed to raise awareness and funds for continued research and care of patients.
