Norma J. "Janie" (Ball) Keck, 58 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, MI passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 9:25 AM in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH. Janie had been in declining health for the past 3 years. Janie was born on November 13, 1951 in Monroe the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Laws) Goins. Janie attended Monroe Public Schools and was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. In 1967 Janie married Bobby Joe Keck in Monroe. A homemaker Janie enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and cooking. Most of all Janie enjoyed her family especially playing with her grandchildren. Janie is survived by her husband Bobby Joe, her loving children; Preston R. McKart, Joey L. (Moreen) McKart Christy M. Ball and Shasta T. McKart all of Monroe, 8 cherished grandchildren; Deseraie, Bryant, Austin, Preston II, Jacob, Devin, Pheyton, and Jo Jo, her brother Herbert (Anna) Ball of Monroe, and her sisters; Betty R. Jennings and Judy M. (Phillip) Gibson both of Monroe. In addition to her parents Janie was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Gillis Goins, and Jimmy, Bill, and Rod Ball. Visitation will be held in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, on Monday from 1-8 PM and Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 11:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Harold Raines pastor of Monroe Full Gospel Church and a long time friend will officiate. Interment will follow at Historic Woodland Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given directly to her family.
