Nell R. Prater, age 76 of Monroe, MI. passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 5:45 PM in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Nell had been in the hospital since August 23 and in poor health for 6 months. Nell was born June 30, 1930 in Williamson, WV. the daughter of the late Stanley and Minnie Opal (Varney) Lowe. On August 7, 1964 Nell married Will A. Prater Sr. in Williamson, WV. They moved to Monroe in 1965. Sadly he preceded her in death on June 29, 1978. A homemaker Nell was a member of Church of God Mountain Assembly in Monroe. Nell led a very simple life and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Nell is survived by her beloved son and daughter in law Will A. (Molly) Prater Jr. of Wyandotte, MI., 3 cherished grandchildren, a brother Bob Lowe of Turkey Creek, KY. and a sister Mary (James) Thompson of Monroe, MI. In addition to her parents and husband Nell was preceded in death by a brother Beverly Lowe. Visitation for Nell will be held Tuesday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Rick Massingill pastor of Church of God Mountain Assembly will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
