Obituary

Nathan C. Shaw, 71 years, of Monroe, Michigan, passed away, Friday, May 27, 2016, in his home with his family at his side.
Born, January 10, 1945 in Wallace, West Virginia, Nate was the son of the late Edward B. and Betty J. (Baker) Shaw. He moved to Monroe in 1968
Nate served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Nate served from April 20, 1964 to April 19, 1967 as a mechanic in the motor pool. He was stationed Thailand.
On July 24, 1971 Nate married his beloved wife, the former Patricia K. DeVore in Midvale, OH.
Nate worked in maintenance at the Mazda Plant in Flat Rock from the day the plant opened until his retirement on June 1, 2010, prior to that he worked as an auto mechanic.
Nate enjoyed yard work and helping others. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with family.
Nate is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years: Patricia, three loving children: Michelle Shaw of Monroe, Barbie K. Shaw and Keith Shaw both of Virginia, five cherished grandchildren: Dustin (Heather) Diehl, Adrienne Diehl, Halie Diehl, Blake McGowan all of Monroe and Desrae Shaw of Virginia, a treasured great grandchild: Bronson Novak, 11 siblings: Tusky (Pat) Shaw, Chancy (Mary) Shaw, Hilda (Jerry) Eddy all of West Virginia, Sandra (Randy) Deeser, Holla Anderson, and Shirley Hoops all of Ohio, Manly (Missy) Shaw of West Virginia, Nova (Tom) Stevens, Karen (Lee) Frescura, Edward (Phyllis) Shaw, and Jesse Shaw all of Michigan.
Nate was preceded in death by a loving daughter Patricia Ann Shaw on August 10, 2013, his parents, a sister: Betty J. Fetty and three brothers: Christy, James and Bernard Shaw.
In keeping with Nate's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services and cremation will be held. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI is assisting with funeral arrangements.
