Nancy A. Sachs, age 87 of Monroe, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
Born October 8, 1935 in Monroe, Nancy was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Linenfelser) Lehr. She attended St. John Catholic Grade School and Monroe High School. On April 30, 1955, Nancy married Floyd C. Sachs at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Together, they co-owned and operated Monroe Swimming Pools and Sachs Construction for 40+ years. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2016.
Nancy was a long time member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide. She served as Chairperson of their pie-making endeavors, providing desserts at church functions and their annual food concession at the Monroe County Fair. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed sewing, canning, baking, and wintering in Florida. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Nancy is survived by three children, Lorna (Don) Lieto of Monroe, Keith Sachs of Monroe, and Julie Sachs of Naperville, IL; five grandchildren: Heather (Jeremy) Head, Andrew (Ashley) Lieto, Megan (Mike) McWilliams, Taylor Sachs, and Brooke Sachs; six great-grandchildren: Kailey Head, Kamden Head, Addison Lieto, Aiden Lieto, MacKenzie McWilliams, and Marshall McWilliams.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by a son, Craig Sachs on June 23, 2022, and brothers, Howard, George, and Bobby Lehr.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21st at Bacarella Funeral Home. Nancy will lie in state Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church where services will begin at 11 a.m. The church pastor, Rev. Lee D. Cullen, Jr. will officiate followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.
