Mollie Lydia Price, 92, formerly of Monroe, of Smyrna, TN, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in the home of her daughter, Katherine Johnson. She had been in poor health for 6 months and seriously ill for a week. She was born on April 15, 1915 in Big Hill, Madison County, KY to Elmer and Ina Kate (Poff) Parker. She was married to Roy W. Price on July 25, 1934 in Monroe; they owned and operated the Triangle Restaurant in Monroe for 42 years retiring in 1978. Sadly, he preceded her in death on May 18, 1983. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, Monroe, Floral City #55, Rebekah Lodge, where she had served as Past Noble Grand, Past Grand Matriarch of the Grand Ladies Encampment Auxiliary of Michigan, Member of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant, District #10,Rebekahs, Past President, River Raisin #208, O.E.S., Past Matron and Life Member, Monroe Rainbow for Girls, Past Mother Advisor, American red Cross, 30 year volunteer member, Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild, Monroe Women's Center, and the Rose Garden Club. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte (John) Morris of LaVergne, TN and Katherine (Sidney) Johnson of Smyrna, TN, brothers, Herschel Parker of Blanchester, OH and James Parker of Middletown, OH, sisters, Lou Miller and Jo Grays of Franklin, OH, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Three Brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Friends may call 1-8 PM Sunday at the Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held Monday at 2 PM with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Her grandson, Rev. William S.C. Johnson of the Zion Lutheran Church, Newnan, GA will officiate. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the American Heart Association or Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
