Obituary

Mildred M. "Millie" Brown, age 78 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Ebeid Center, after courageously battling cancer the past six months.
Millie was born on March 25, 1946 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late John and Rosie (Combs) Rodgers. On September 23, 1963, she married Jeff T. Brown in Sneedville, TN. Together they raised three children.
A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Millie gladly embraced being a homemaker. She lovingly enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and quilting for her family. In her spare time, she liked reading, flower gardening, and traveling with her children. She always looked forward to preparing Sunday family dinners which included several desserts. Above all else, Millie was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Millie is survived by husband of 60 years, Jeff Brown; three children, Jeffrey (Yaleni) Brown of Temperance, Melissa (Chris) Carry of Republic, OH, and Julie (Joel) Watters of Monroe; five siblings, Kenley (Sharon) Rodgers, Myrl Rodgers, Mable Coffey, Ginger Coffey, and Sharon Wilmoth, all of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Jeffrey, Luke, Samuel, Benjamin, Jacob, and Molly.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by infant twin sisters and a brother, Franklin Rodgers.
Family and friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral at 12 p.m. Thursday, May 9th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Slater, Associate Pastor at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
For anyone wanting to make a donation in memory of Millie, the family suggests supporting St. Jude Children's Hospital.
