Michael L. Williamson, age 87, of LaSalle, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family.
Michael was born August 28, 1934, in Detroit, he was the son of Clarcie (Turner) Williamson. He married Hazel B. Miller October 8, 1955.
He was a man with a real work ethic. He started working at the age of 12 carrying coal to the schoolhouse in Darrington, at 16 he started working for the railroad. He worked various other jobs before working for Ford Motor Company and retiring in 1977.
Michael was a member of the NRA and enjoyed collecting die cast cars and beer steins. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Hazel Williamson of LaSalle; four children, Karen (Gary) Braden of Monroe, Michael David (Dawn) Williamson of Ypsilanti, Sharon Griffin of Erie and Kenneth (Tami) Williamson of Madison, OH; a brother, John Williamson of Fairview; ten grandchildren, Beth, Joshua, Amanda, Michael, Jesse, Jaime, Brandon, Logan, Breein and Kristopher and several great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, three sisters and two brothers.
In accordance with Michael's wishes all services will be private with burial at LaSalle Township Cemetery. A Celebration of Life is planned for October 23, 2021 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the V.F.W. Post 3925 in Erie.
