Obituary

Michael D. Robinson, 62, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born on December 22, 1962, in Mount Morris, MI, Mike was the beloved son of Dennis and Virginia (Wright) Robinson. He graduated from Mount Morris High School in 1981 and relocated to Monroe in 1984. On May 9, 1992, Mike married Denise D. Burns. Together, they raised three children.
Mike had a long and prosperous career, working with National Galvanizing for over 30 years and retiring as Plant Manager in 2017. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on those around him. Mike was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Monroe Boat Club, the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mike was passionate about the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, University of Michigan, and SMCC athletics. Above all, Mike was a devoted father. No matter the event or the occasion, he made it a priority to be there for his children, showing up as their biggest fan.
Growing up in Michigan, Mike developed a love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing in the woods. His passion for nature remained with him throughout his life. He treasured the memories created around the campfire at his hunting camp or at Neebish Island, places where he bonded with his grandfather, father, children, many family members and friends. These stories and moments will be remembered for a lifetime.
Mike had a unique ability to connect with others. He could talk to anyone, about anything, and always remembered a name. Known for his selflessness, Mike was always there to lend a hand, making sure those around him were cared for. His generosity, kindness, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his two sons, Zachary of Monroe and Trystin of Bradenton, FL; his daughter, Alexandria Robinson of Spring Lake, MI; his father, Dennis of Hale, MI; his former spouse, Denise Robinson of Monroe; his sister, Karen Newcomer of Wyandotte, MI; and two grandchildren, Braxton Robinson and Carter Long.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia "Ann" Robinson, and his brother, Brady Robinson.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held this Sunday, March 23rd, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Monroe Boat Club. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring him and share your memories of Mike.
