Michael W. LaMarsh, age 81, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital.
Mike was born August 27, 1941 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of Albert and Shirley (Bookham) LaMarsh. He married Joan V. Starr November 11, 1961 in Monroe, MI.
He was a 1959 graduate of Airport High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Northwood University.
Mike was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on the church and school board and in recent years as an usher.
Mike worked various Engineering and Management positions for Ford Motor Company at the plants in Monroe, Livonia and Sharonville, Ohio until his retirement in 2004 after nearly 40 years.
Mike loved sports and played baseball, softball, golf, bowling and going fishing with his grandkids and in his younger years he coached little league. Mike was also an animal lover.
To cherish Mike's memory, he leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Joan; three loving daughters, Lori (Jeff) Strohschein of San Antonio, TX, Cari (Brad) Bonnell of Solon, OH and Danielle of Monroe, MI; a sister, Kay Tomich of Newport, MI and his beloved ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diana Nichols.
In accordance with Mike's wishes, a private family service was held at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Ross Ulrich and Rev. Greg Sitzman. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements were provided by Bacarella Funeral Home.
