Obituary

Maynard E. Marlow, 92 years, of LaSalle, MI passed away in his home and went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 6:56 am under the tender care of his family and Mercy Memorial Hospice.
Maynard was born December 5, 1918 in Speedwell, TN the son of the late William "Billy" and Kizzie (Drummonds) Marlow. On November 18, 1939 in Cumberland Gap, TN, Maynard married his beloved wife the former Mossie M. Minton. Sadly, Mossie preceded him in death on November 17, 1998.
Maynard and Mossie moved to Monroe in 1944 to raise their family. Maynard worked as a machinist at Consolidated Paper Company in Monroe for 33 years before retiring. Maynard also served our country honorably and proudly in the US Army.
Maynard was a member of LaSalle, Missionary Baptist Church and he enjoyed flea markets, gardening and walking at the mall. Most of all Maynard enjoyed spending time and being around family.
He is survived by 4 loving children; William Ray Marlow of Temperance, MI, Charles E. (Sharon) Marlow of Gobles, MI, Danny (Betty) Marlow of Carleton, MI, and Shirlene Kay Krauss of LaSalle, MI, a son in law James Sproles of Ida, MI 13 cherished grandchildren, 25 treasured great grandchild and 5 treasured great great grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Maynard was preceded in death by 1 son Ernest Marlow, 1 daughter, Iva Dell Sproles, a daughter in law Elaine Marlow, a great great grandson Nicholas Sproles and 4 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-8 pm in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 10:00 am. The Rev. Terry Braden pastor of LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe or to a charity of the donor's choice.
