MaryAnn Vogel, 78 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Oakwood Skilled Nursing Center in Dearborn, MI.
Born, May 6, 1935 in Detroit, MI, MaryAnn was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Pearl M. (Watson) Vogel. MaryAnn was a 1953 graduate of Monroe High School. She went on to further her education and received an associate's degree from Monroe County Community College.
MaryAnn was employed as a payroll manager for Union Camp Corporation in Monroe for 37 years, from which she retired.
MaryAnn was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ida, MI. MaryAnn enjoyed new cars, classic cars, bowling and was also an avid golfer. She golfed in several leagues at both Carrington Golf Club and Green Meadows Golf Club and was a former member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club. More than anything MaryAnn enjoyed family.
MaryAnn is survived by her sister in law: Dolly Vogel of Monroe, a niece: Ann M. Vogel of Gaylord, MI, a nephew: Edward C. Vogel, II of Wyandotte, MI, five great nieces and nephews: Angela, Lauren, Edward III, Heidi, and Kevin, and two great great nieces: Alivia and Ella. In addition to her parents: MaryAnn was preceded in death by a brother: Edward Vogel, a nephew: David Vogel and a lifelong friend: Norma Jean Heiden.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161. On Saturday, April 5, 2014 she will lie in state at Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church, 1920 Lewis Ave., Ida, MI, 48180, from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Ted Kerr, III, pastor of the church will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
