Mary Grace Zubkoff, age 84 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in her home.
Born September 8, 1941 in Monroe, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Marchese) Pancone. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1959 and married Edward J. Zubkoff on November 19, 1960. They were joined in holy matrimony by Rev. Fr. John Vanadia at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe. Together they raised seven children. Ed preceded Mary in death on August 16, 2002.
Mary was employed by Memorial Hospital and Mercy Memorial Hospital for a total of 21 years. Afterward, she worked alongside her husband at the family business, Gramma's Market.
Mary most enjoyed time spent with her family and cherished grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas with her husband, doing crossword puzzles, and watching soap operas and harness racing on television.
Mary is survived by her children: Deborah (Tim) Lovell of Monroe, Edward (Melissa Orlando) Zubkoff, Jr. of LaSalle, Richard (Leslie) Zubkoff of Erie, Robert Zubkoff of Monroe, John (Christina) Zubkoff of Monroe, Anthony (Rebecca) Zubkoff of LaSalle, and Sophia (Tim) Twaddle of Canonsburg, PA; sister, Roseanne (Mike) Murchie of Monroe; 14 grandchildren: Ben, Andy, Meadow, Lexi, Parker, Tyler, Shyanne, Summer, Bobby, Jr., Autumn, Devon, Donald, Sarah, and Joey; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Zubkoff and a brother, Samuel Pancone.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Ken Trabbic. Mary will lie in state at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie where Mary was a member. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by the church pastor, Rev. Fr. Louis Lapeyre. Following the funeral Mass, Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
