Mary C. (Lipford) Walters, age 69, of Monroe, MI passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Elderly Solutions where she had been for the past month. Mary was a resident of Norman Towers. Mary was born August 23, 1939 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Frank G. and Mary A. (Mastromarcco) Lipford. Mary attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and Grade School where she was both baptized and confirmed. She then went on to graduate from St. Mary's Academy. In June of 1962 Mary married John Walters at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe. After their marriage the couple moved to Trenton where they raised their family. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking. Mary also worked as a secretary for Linc Medical Systems in Monroe for 10 years. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed walking and children especially her grandchildren. Mary is survived by 3 loving sons; Paul F. (Julie) Walters of Holland, OH, John F, Walters of Marietta, GA and Mike S. Walters of Riverview, MI, 5 cherished grandchildren; Molly, Nicholas, Samantha, Steven and Claire, a twin sister Margaret "Muggie" (Robert) Boss of Monroe, 5 brothers; Frank (Kay) Lipford, Rocque (Marcia) Lipford, John (Janice) Lipford, Ralph (Patsy) Lipford and William (Sandy) Lipford all of Monroe. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 PM. On Monday February 16, 2009 she will lie instate at the IHM Mother House Chapel from 12 noon where a funeral mass celebrating her life will begin at 1:00 PM. Fr. Marc A. Gawronski will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
