Mary Anne Petree, age 62, of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born November 19, 1963, in Monroe, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Shirley (Craft) Jennings. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1981 and married Dean A. Petree on December 10, 1983, at Roessler Street Church of God. Together, they shared 42 years of marriage built on love, loyalty, and devotion.
Mary was a devoted wife, proud mother, loving grandmother, and a woman whose quiet strength and kindness touched everyone who knew her. Gentle by nature and small in stature, she had a heart far greater than her size. She lived selflessly, always putting others before herself, and even through years of illness rarely spoke of her own struggles.
Mary loved her children deeply and was grateful every day to be their mom. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and their laughter filled her heart. She often looked forward to playing euchre with friends and she found joy in preparing meals that brought her family together. A natural caregiver, Mary always offered comfort, compassion, and kindness.
Though her body grew tired, her spirit never did. Mary faced life with grace and strength, leaving behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dean; her children, Dean Petree of Mount Pleasant IA, Tyler Petree of Perrysburg, OH, and Tonya (Kenneth) Kluczynski of Monroe; her siblings, William (Pamela) Jennings of Schertz TX, Diane Wright of Ida, MI, Denise (Harold) Welch of Lima, OH, and Jeanne (Donald) Croley of Monroe; and her six grandchildren, Ava, Bay, Brooklyn, Olivia, Cole, and Nathan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia Cosby
