Mary McCammon, age 89, of Monroe, MI passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Monroe after a short illness. Mary was born September 19, 1919 in Dugger, IN the daughter of the late John and Edna (Bryant) MacCauley. Mary graduated high school in Indiana. On August 1, 1938 in her hometown of Dugger she married her beloved husband Robert L. McCammon. Sadly he preceded her in death in 1986. The couple moved to Monroe in the early 1940's and called Monroe their home. Mary began working at the Weiss Manufacturing Company's plant in Monroe. Her next place of employment was at Mercy Memorial Hospital where she worked in housekeeping, a position which she held until her retirement in 1985. Mary enjoyed gardening and her family. Mary is survived by her 2 caring sons; Larry E. McCammon Sr. and Thomas L. (Bonnie) McCammon both of Monroe, 2 treasured grandchildren Larry E. McCammon Jr. and Tina Miller, 5 treasured great grandchildren, 1 treasured great great grandchild, and a sister Margaret Hutchinson Arzinger. Mary's family would like to give a special thanks to Mary's best friend Darlene Folmar for her kindness and thoughtfulness. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held at the Bacarella Funeral Home on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Evans C. Bentley, Pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe.
