Mary Maxine Elefritz, 80, of Newport, died Friday, February 2, 2007 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital where she had been for a day. She was born June 10, 1926 in Camden, WV to William Otis and Mary (McCoy) Woods. She married Calvin Elefritz June 23, 1945 in Summersville, WV. She came to the Monroe area in 1987 from Summersville. Survivors include 2 sons, Russell (Brenda) of Flat Rock and Calvin of Wyandotte, 2 daughters, Mary A. Bell of Newport and Janet (Tim) Novencido of TN, 2 brothers, Robert (Dee) Woods of Texas and Charles (Stephanie) Woods of Akron, OH, 4 sisters, Catherine Trimble of Paris, KY, Margaret Thomas of Akron, OH, Nelda Diller of Springfield, OH, and Grace Ward of Summersville, WV, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Sadly, a son Douglas, in 1987, 5 brothers, and a sister all preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Summersville, WV, with burial taking place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Summersville. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
