Mary Edmondson, 83, went to her new home in heaven to be with her Lord early Thursday morning. Mary passed away peacefully at Fountain View in Monroe, Michigan with her family near. She had been in declining health for 2 months. Just the day before, Mary was given God's blessings by her grandson, the Rev. Christopher D. Fairbairn of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Northville, Michigan. Mary was born in Middlesboro, KY on June 10, 1926, the third child of Arthur and Rebecca (Lambert) Pace. She was married on December 24, 1943, to David J. Edmondson of Monroe. He died on April 20, 1987. Mary worked at Consolidated Paper Company where she met her husband, David, in 1942. She later worked at Memorial Hospital in medical records. She also served as a care-giver for many people. She was an active member at Grace Lutheran church where she was in Ladies Aid Society and happily served on the Altar Guild. She gardened, played cards, and was an avid bowler for over 40 years with the Bowlerettes. She also loved Bunko and learning to golf in her later years. She inspired love, honor and spiritual strength to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by daughters, Gail (Lavern) Fairbairn, of Monroe, Rebecca (Howard) Harmon of Olathe, Kansas, and son, David (Kimberly) Edmondson of Greenville, Indiana as well as her grandson, Rev. Christopher (Lisa) Fairbairn of Novi, Michigan, granddaughter, Kristen (Nathan) Miklusak of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, grandsons, David Jacob and Joshua Edmondson of Indiana; also her great-grandchildren, Mariah and Lauren Miklusak, Jacob, Emily, and Joseph Fairbairn. She is survived by sisters, Jeanette (Johnnie) Greene and Bonnie Willis of Harrogate, Tennessee, and brother, Everett "Sonny" Pace of Middlesboro, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frank "Bub" Pace, sisters Irene Pace, Georgie Hill and Willie Massengill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009, from 1-8 P.M. in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 7, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral services celebrating God's blessings through the life of Mary will be held at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Mark Witte. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in LaSalle. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Lutheran Church.
