Mary Alice Dobbins, 86, of Monroe, passed away on October 6, 2013. She was born July 13, 1926 in Kentucky to Daniel LaFayette and Rosa (Miracle) Tuttle, they both have preceded her in death.
On May 12, 1944, in Claiborne County, she married Ova R. Bussell. They came to Monroe in 1952 to make their home. Sadly, he preceded her in death July 3, 1970. She then married Dannie Dobbins in August 1974, in Monroe. He also preceded her in death on March 17, 1998.
A homemaker, Mary enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, canning, and making floral arrangements. But mostly, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed very much by her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Vernon (Connie) Bussell of Monroe, Bessie (Larry) Robbins of Ida, Mitchell Bussell of Arizona, and Ova Junior (Mary Alice Butler) Bussell of Monroe; a sister, Elizabeth Keck of Crossville, TN; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She had 9 brothers and sister and 2 grandchildren who also preceded her in death.
Friends are invited to call at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, from 1-8 PM, on Tuesday, October 8, where services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday. Revs. Harold Raines and Gary Pickrell of Monroe Full Gospel Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
