Mary N. "Nickie" Billmaier, age 73, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away Friday, November 28, 2008 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Nickie had been in poor health for the past 2 weeks. Nickie was born July 22, 1935 in Monroe the daughter of the late Salvatore and Louise (Diulio) Castellese. Nickie attended school in Monroe and was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School. On December 28, 1955 in Angola, IN she married Beryl A. Billmaier. Nickie was a life member of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club. A homemaker, Nickie enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling and most of all her family, especially her grandchildren. Nickie is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Beryl, 3 loving children; John B. (Julie) Billmaier of Monroe, Mark S. (Amber) Billmaier of Lambertville, MI, and Todd A. (Suyoung) Billmaier of Newport, MI, 10 cherished grandchildren, Stacie Hawes, Bradley, Kimberley, Kellie, Blake, Morgan, Shawn, Calvin, Brett and Brandon Billmaier. 1 brother Alex S. Castellese of Lambertville, MI, and 2 sisters; JoAnn Evans of Monroe and Alice (Kenneth) Jennings of Ida, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe. On Monday, December 1, 2008 she will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe from 9:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection Celebrating her life at 10:00 AM. Fr. William Fisher pastor of the church will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
