Marvin J. Trombley, age 89, of LaSalle, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at Divine Rehab and Nursing at Sylvania.
Marvin was born April 1, 1934 in Rockwood, Michigan; he was the son of Ernest and Gladys (Benore) Trombley. He married Catherine F. Russeau August 29, 1959 at St. Joseph Church, Erie.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958.
Marvin was a member of St. Joseph Church, Erie, where he served as an usher and volunteered at the festivals. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 7413, Erie and their Fourth Degree. He volunteered with T.H.A.N.K.S. and helped at the breakfast fundraisers and would call bingo at Knights of Columbus Monroe.
He worked for Neo Products, Jones Transfer and then Marion Place until his retirement in 2006.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Catherine, five children, Denise (Jim) Beckwith of Kokomo, IN, Brenda (Jim) Hall of Albion, MI, Brian (Anna) Trombley of Petersburg, MI, Randy (Sherri) Trombley of Oak Harbor, OH and Elaine (Mark) Jacobs of Perrysburg, OH; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Trombley; a brother Gerald Trombley; four sisters, Betty Roberts, Marian Bomia, Joann Zenz and Geraldine Roberts.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161; where a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. He will lie instate at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Church, 2214 Manhattan St., Erie MI 48133 with Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, with military honors by V.F.W. Post 3925.
