Martha Lucille Fifer, age 92, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family.
Martha was born May 7, 1930 in Pueblo, Colorado; she was the daughter of Andrew John and Florence Marie (Murten) Kasic. She married H. Clay Fifer June 19, 1953 in Pueblo, CO.
She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Colorado and worked as a registered nurse and school nurse.
Martha, her husband Clay and their children moved to the Monroe in 1977.
Martha was a member of the Monroe Vineyard Church and Vineyard Ministries International.
She is survived by her son, John Fifer and his wife Tara Anne Root-Fifer; daughter, Mary Joyce Fifer; grandchildren, Travis John Fifer and Kaitlyn Marie Ferguson; step grandchild, Mallory Roberts and great grandchildren, Ainsley Ferguson and Calum Fifer.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe. Pastor Vic Holtz of Monroe Vineyard Church will officiate. Private interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
