Marison Eugene Dean, age 61 of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 4, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
Born August 8, 1960 in Monroe, Eugene was the son of Rufus and Irene (Cline) Dean. He attended Monroe Public Schools and married Bonnie J. Schreiber on June 27, 1980 in Monroe. Together they raised three children.
Eugene was employed by Bulk Transit in Dundee for the past 31 years as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. His family often referred to him as "MacGyver". Eugene's favorite pastimes included fishing, playing Solitaire on his laptop, and watching the Discovery and History channels.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Dean of Monroe; mother, Irene Dean of Monroe; three children, Craig (April) Dean of Carleton, MI, Amanda (Cristoval) Mendoza of Monroe, and Christopher (Barbara) Dean of Monroe; two sisters, Debbie (Carl) Taylor of Rileyville, VA and Sherry (Bill) Hilkens of Toledo, OH; seven grandchildren: Brock, Braden, Nathaniel, Hannah, Caleb, Eli, and Ella; and two pet chihuahua's, his "babies" Lucy and Penny.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Dean, and mother-in-law, Barbara Barthel.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. until funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate. Cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes.
