Obituary

Margery Ann Case, 92 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Lambertville.
Born February 9, 1933 in Monroe, Marge was the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Stein) Farmer. Marge was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe where she made her sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and marriage. She attended St John elementary school and was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School.
On April 24, 1954 at St. John's Church, Marge married her beloved husband, Robert C. Case. Monsignor Shaw performed the ceremony. Sadly, Bob preceded her in death on September 2, 1994 after 40 years of marriage.
Before starting a family Marge worked at Michigan Bell as a telephone operator for five years, and later worked part time at Custer Pharmacy for 12 years. Marge was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. Her tidy and always well decorated home was a source of pride for her.
In addition to being a member of St. John's church, Marge was a member of the Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild, where for over 20 years, she made all of the floral arrangements. She was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St John's and also volunteered to distribute the Eucharist to residents at a local nursing home.
Marge enjoyed crafts, tending to her perennial garden, decorating, bowling and walking. In the afternoon once her yard work was done, she would enjoy a glass of Chardonnay with friends. She loved music and enjoyed listening to Barbra Streisand albums while puttering around her home. Later she added a companion to her home, a sweet cat named Sugar. But her favorite times were those spent with family.
Marge is survived by three loving children: Judith A. (Greg) Hibbard of Toledo, Brian T. (Laura) Case of Ida, and Robert A. (Lisa) Case of Aurora, IL, four cherished grandchildren: Samantha, Stephanie, Andrew, and Alex to whom she was adoringly referred to as "Grandma Boo" and a beloved sister-in-law, Joy Farmer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marge was preceded in death by a sister Maxine Larrow, two brothers, Thomas and Robert Farmer, and her dear friend Robert J. Duffey.
Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11AM, a memorial visitation will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan. A memorial service celebrating Marge's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Fr. David Burgard officiating.
Private interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
