Margaret Ann Owens, age 79 of Saline, MI, formerly of Dundee, MI, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Born December 3, 1942 in Dundee, Margaret was the daughter of the late Howard and Minnie (Beening) Dunmore. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1961 and earned an LPN degree from Jones Practical Nurse Education Center in Ann Arbor, MI.
Margaret married Hesper "Bud" Owens on March 13, 1965 in Ann Arbor, MI. Together, they resided in Port Huron, MI where she was employed by several area hospitals as an LPN and also worked for many years for Dr. Wallace Weckesser MD at his private medical practice, retiring in 1990. Her husband Bud passed away on January 20, 2006 and she moved to back to Dundee in 2007.
Margaret's personal interests included traveling, spending time with her friends, cross stitching. reading and spending many hours relaxing at Pine Grove Park watching the ships pass through the St. Clair River under the Bluewater Bridge on their way to Lake Huron.
Margaret is survived by two sisters, Wilma Bogedain of Dundee and Donna Rodziewicz of Petersburg; her many nieces and nephews, Ronald (Janet) Bogedain of Fenton, Thomas Bogedain of Dundee, Brian (Betsy) Bogedain of Petersburg, Jeanine Bogedain of Tucson, Arizona, Teresa (Steve) Holeman of Petersburg, Sharon (Dennis) Rudnicki of Fort Myers, FL, David (Doris) Rodziewicz of Petersburg, Joseph (Karla) Rodziewicz of Dundee, Kimberly Peters of Lewiston, Vickie (Eric) Cook of Monroe; many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was also preceded in death by a brother, Duane Dunmore.
Family and friends may visit from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 15th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Rev. Keith Hawes will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
