Margaret "Margy" Mary Grancitelli, age 70, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in her home under the care of hospice.
Margy was born September 23, 1951 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Daniel and Henrietta (Cousino) Myers. She married the love of her life, Mark A. Grancitelli on December 4, 1970 at St. Joseph Church in Erie.
She was a 1969 graduate of Erie Mason High School and a member of St. Mary's Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Margy enjoyed doing ceramics, card club with the girls and watching sports on TV. She was an avid Red Wings fan. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Taking care of them was always her top priority.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mark; four children, Mark (Melissa) Grancitelli Jr. of Newport, Melissa (John) Massengill of Monroe, Megan (James) Swartout of Monroe and Mitchell (Lauren) Grancitelli of Monroe; eight grandchildren, Ty (Laura), Nicholas, Nathan, Gavin, Noah, Emma, Nolan, Palmer and one grandchild on the way. She also has one great grandchild on the way; five siblings, Charlotte (Richard) Isham of Romulus, Richard Myers of Monroe, Jeffrey (Kathy) Myers of Monroe, Donna (Don) Laboe of New Haven, IN and Danette Myers of New Haven, IN.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She will lie instate at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church 127 N. Monroe St., Monroe, with a Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Fr. David Burgard and Deacon Michael Stewart will concelebrate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Mary Church.
