Margaret C. Boss passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 24, at the age of 81, having spent her life in Monroe, Michigan. Born Margaret Lipford on August 23, 1939, she was one of seven children from the union of Frank and Mary Lipford. Her siblings include Frank (Marilyn), Rocque (Marcia), her twin sister Mary Walters, John (Janice), Ralph (Patsy) and Bill (Sandy). Margaret attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy High School.
She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Bob Boss, loving mother to Mark Boss (Diane), Ann Boss-Cronin (Jay Cronin) and Michelle Boss-Thayer, cherished "Gamma" of Mitchell Boss (Jordan), Madison McNabb (Daniel), Brad Boss (Emma), Alexander Cronin, Lucy Cronin, Jake Thayer, Sidney Thayer, Lucas Thayer, and great-grandson, Marshall Boss.
Margaret's family and friends fondly called her "Muggy" to which she responded with a bright smile and a wave. She was an extraordinary homemaker, enjoyed the fine art of conversation (gift of gab), cooking, reading romance novels, walking, and gardening. You could always find her cheering on her crew at sporting events or dancing the night away on the dance floor at family celebrations. Above all, she had boundless energy, a zest for life and loved spending time with her family and friends.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to her caregiver, Cindy, for the companionship and support given to Muggy.
A public viewing is available at Bacarella Funeral home Friday, January 29, from 2pm-7pm, with a memorial service at 7pm. Deacon Mike Stewart of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate. Cremation and interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
