Our brave brother Marc Dail Prucka went home to heaven on April 7, 2025 and we know our Mom and Dad were waiting for him with open arms.
Marc was a creative soul and very much his own person. He was born on November 2, 1967 to Dail Frank Prucka and Linda Kay (Graessley) Prucka. He spent most of his younger years making the whole family laugh and playing with all the Riverview neighborhood kids. Every night it was Kick the Can, and Freeze Tag only coming home for dinner when the street lights came on. The summers were filled with bike riding to the Cantrick swimming pool, catching pollywogs at Pollywog Pond, playing tether ball at the Christiancy Tot Lot, drinking Kool Aid, getting penny candy at Clark's Market, or waiting each night for the ice Cream truck to roll down the street.
Marc graduated from Monroe High school in 1986 and Monroe County Community College.
Marc was a jack of all trades. He was an extremely strong man, who had a kind of unnatural strength he inherited from his Dad. He spent his life working with his hands. He installed pools and laid asphalt. He played pool and worked on pool tables.
He had a green thumb, many knew of his horticultural talents. Marc lived on the water. He had many different boats throughout his lifetime, from sailboats, canoes, to speed boats. A people person he could talk to anyone. He was at home working on celebrity boats and talking to people at soup kitchens. He spent many years at Toledo Beach Marina doing a variety of jobs. He worked the grounds, did maintenance on the boats, Rack and Launch in the Spring, and Winterizing in the Fall. At the marina he made lots of friends, and enjoyed the good life.
An artistic soul, Marc experimented with lots of types of art. He made sculptures, painted and drew. He also wore a lot of art, his tattoos told his story. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved to ride. He fished. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to hunting season.
He was known to play Risk with buddies all night long. A smart man, he was a thinker. He spent hours studying astronomy. He kept up with world news and politics and always had opinions on what was happening. He embraced the search for Bigfoot. He spent time finding local arrowheads and gaining an understanding of local native American culture.
Marc loved dogs! He did not meet a dog he did not like. He always rescued dogs from the Monroe Humane Society and had a tender heart for pitbulls. He played a mean harmonica and had a regular duet with his late dog Buddy that would howl right along. He jammed to classic vinyl until he took his last breath.
He leaves behind the true love of his life, his daughter Alex Prucka.
He will be very missed by his sisters Marsha (Eric) Snavely and Deb (Mike) Gill who will always hold him close.
Perpetually up to shenanigans he will not easily be forgotten by his nieces and nephews: Greta, Baxter, Shiloh, Ruslana,Titus, Svetlana, and Zorah with each being told they were his favorite.
To cherish his memory he also leaves his wonderful stepdad, John Gawle (JPops) and all the Gawle Clan.
He also held dear, Aunt Drue and Uncle Phil Kramer, and all his cousins.
Visitation for Marc Dail Prucka will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday April 11, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. Monroe, Michigan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM with family friend Paul Bentley officiating.
