Magdalen Ann "Midge" (Basile) Miller, 89 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Monroe.
Born June 11, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, Midge was the daughter of the late Christ and Mary (Lombardo) Basile. The family moved to Monroe in 1928 and Midge attended Lincoln Elementary School.
On September 9, 1950 Midge married her beloved husband, Richard R. Miller at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe.
She owned and operated M & M Meats in Toledo, Ohio and worked at Uniloy in Dundee. Midge was also a wonderful homemaker.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and is now a member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe. Other memberships include Comboni Ladies Auxiliary, Knight Of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary; where she was honored as lady night of the year. During her many years at St. Joseph Catholic Church she volunteered and helped cook at the festivals. More than anything Midge loved family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Dick, three loving children: Richard R. Miller II of Monroe, Chris A. Miller of West Roxbury, MA, and Debra Ann DiOrio of Lexington, KY, two cherished grandchildren: Amanda (Brian) Lynde and Chelsea DiOrio, a treasured great granddaughter: Tess Leann Lynde, a brother: Pat (Ann) Basile of Monroe and two sisters: Toni Basile of Taylor, MI and Pamela Ciacelli of Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI where a Rosary Service will be held that evening at 6:00 PM. On Monday, September 22, 2014 she will lie in state at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
