Luella M. Smith, age 103 of Monroe, peacefully passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 28th at her home.
Born on May 5, 1918 in Delwin, Michigan, Luella was the daughter of John and Viola (Schwalm) Faber. On October 4, 1945, she married Ivan L. Smith in Flint, MI.
While working in the factories as a young lady, Luella earned her beautician's license. She was a talented gardener, seamstress and cook. She enjoyed reading and playing Scrabble. Upon retiring to Hubbard Lake, MI, she became an avid billiards player, playing on several pool leagues until she was 93 years old. Luella was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and was always ready and willing to lend a hand.
Leaving behind to hold in their hearts and cherish her memory are her daughter, Dianna (Mark) Wnuk of Monroe; granddaughter, April (Frank DeLuca) Kadrovach; great-grandchild, Oktavia Kadrovach; sister, Helen Baird; nieces, Helen (Galen) Christopher and Dianna (John) Zofko; and many numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; brothers, Keith, John, and Carl Faber; and sister, Fernanna Baird.
In accordance with Luella's wishes, no services will be held. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Luella entered this world during the Spanish Flu Pandemic and passed away during the Covid-19 Pandemic, without being infected by either!
